ABSTRACT. The study examines public administration as a global approach on interoperability standards of emerging technologies. New technologies, such as the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing are changing the way governments deliver services. The absence of harmonized standards is however problematic; incompatible systems, data silos etc. These problems cause inefficiency and increased costs of government. This research is going to establish how interoperability standards can enhance digital governance and service delivery. It also looks at current standards within such areas as healthcare, smart grid, and electric vehicles and the associated positive aspects and the shortcomings. An awareness, adoption and interoperability challenges of interoperability survey in public administration was conducted. The findings vary and indicate that most of the departments are aware of the standards but fail to implement them hence lack continuity. Adoption is also impeded by lack of training and obsolete systems. The studies also show a great interest in international cooperation in developing international standards, which would be more efficient and secure in terms of data. The international cooperation is often affected by the current standards inadequate in cross-border governance. The study explains that flexible standards aligned with the global system are necessary in order to facilitate technologies in administration. It proposes that the governments make the investment in training, modernization of legacy systems, and international cooperation in a bid to outweigh technical and regulatory obstacles. Through the solutions to these challenges, there can be a smooth incorporation of the new technologies in the field of public administration that will result in quicker, secure and available services.
