ABSTRACT. Magdalena is the archetypal Mother par excellence. Sound, solid, like a true leader, she went through all her (trivial) life, dealing exclusively with her family. Leaving her home to go abroad for the first time, she behaves both naively and sacredly, collapsing on herself with her superstitions and her sacred rituals. Unbeknownst to her, the journey becomes a purgatory. The irony is that, although she commonly practices religious rituals, death strikes her in a completely unexpected, absurd, and trivial way. pp. 141–155
