ABSTRACT. Palermo and White treat the matter of prisonization, derived from the necessity of adaptation to and survival in another environment, and discuss the topic of a prison’s (sub)culture. Soper’s thesis is about what we need to impute to the law, regarded impersonally, in order to make overall sense of our practices. Unger asserts that the practice allows judges to impute general "policies of collective welfare and principles of moral and political right" into their readings of the law. Dworkin rejects the concept of law as acceptance of conventional patterns of recognition.
