ABSTRACT. Leaving his native Lugoj, Bela Lugosi emigrated to the United States to become a great actor and subsequently came to be known, throughout most of the 20-th century, for the perfect cinematographic portrayal of Dracula, the Transylvanian Count created by the Irish Bram Stoker in his Gothic novel, and revived by the Irish Hamilton Deane and the American John L. Balderston in their play. pp. 57-65
