ABSTRACT. The main objective of this paper is to explore and describe the complex nature of adult child-parent ties, the role of parents’ knowledge in supporting children’s development, and social constraints hindering HIV treatment and care. In the present paper, I focus on effects in shaping childhood skill formation, perceptions regarding the parental behaviors toward children, child-centered parenting frames, and knowledge about parenting and child development. pp. 325–330
