ABSTRACT. The mainstay of the paper is formed by an analysis of personal and organizational elements that are instrumental in the operation of organizational citizenship conducts, the possible beneficial and adverse effects that may arise from stimulating organizational citizenship behaviors (OCBs) concerning workers, and the relevance of OCB for organizational performance. In this paper I am particularly interested in exploring the connections between OCBs and organizational effectiveness standards, the psychological workings that account for the link between OCB and its end results, and the direct association between carrying out OCB and achieving organizational reward. pp. 87–93
