ABSTRACT. The mainstay of the paper is formed by an analysis of the drivers of labor standards, the troublesome impact of foreign aid on labor rights, the influence of trade on less advanced economies’ labor rights, and the link between economic liberalization and relative bargaining capacity of employees in developing states. These findings highlight the importance of examining external impacts that shape revenue-seeking governments’ choices concerning collective labor rights provision, the collaborative consequence of trade and aid on labor rights in less advanced economies, and the connection between foreign aid and labor practices. pp. 73–79
