ABSTRACT. This article reviews and advances existing literature concerning labor market flexibility in platform capitalism. Using and replicating data from Ardent Partners, BBC, BloombergOpinion, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Deloitte, Eurofound, EY, Morning Consult, and ONS, we performed analyses and made estimates regarding how gig workers view their jobs (satisfaction, %), attitudes towards contingent workers (%), share of generational groups who think that the gig economy is beneficial for everyone in the UK (%), median individual income reported by alternative workers (US), self-employed EU workers (%, most popular sectors), US workers in alternative work arrangements (%), and top contingent workforce management challenges in 2019 (%). Data were analyzed using structural equation modeling.
