ABSTRACT. Contoman writes that for larger agricultural units, the main condition for getting a higher production is to manage the land properly by introducing crop rotation. Brad et al. contend that planning is the process to identify the present situation, to establish the objectives and to specify the methods for realizing the objectives. Schmitz et al. analyze the substitution of agricultural land uses and native forests in the North of Spain by Pinus radiata plantations, and the variability of a set of soil samples taken in these plantations, and other types of land uses. Khan et al. maintain that agricultural productivity is dependent on physical, economic and institutional factors.
