ABSTRACT. According to Tuchman, hard news deal with unscheduled or pre-scheduled events and their publication is seen as urgent. Kopper et al. write that online journalism is a new and fast-evolving branch of journalism, with academic research about it lagging far behind. Jenkins contends that convergence describes technological, industrial, cultural, and social changes in the ways media circulates within our culture. Bolter and Grusin assert that new digital media are not external agents that come to disrupt an unsuspecting culture.
