Transnational Entrepreneurship: An Introduction to the Volume
Maria Elo, Jörg FreilingABSTRACT. Transnational trade and business activities have rapidly increased. Countries and markets interconnect in many ways, partially as a result of global migration flows. Globalization, and in particular advanced communication through Internet and digitalization, cheaper flights and free trade agreements have fostered the possibilities to explore and exploit opportunities beyond mono-cultural and domestic markets. Transnational business and transnational firms have been discussed in research and theories have emerged explaining these developments. During the last decades international migration has dramatically grown and a plethora of contemporary transnational diasporas has emerged.
