ABSTRACT. In Naturalist writers one will find human nature in its primitive pure form, still untainted by civilization. A disorder of some kind, pathological or psychopathological, is thus the ideal subject for experiments whose effects are as visible as can be. It is hardly surprising that the occasions for such disorders never fail to arise, and they are being watched with the dedication of a Naturalist writer like Liviu Rebreanu (nothing less than a scientist proper) who puts on the physician’s outfit whenever the case be.
