ABSTRACT. The objective of this paper is to emphasize the challenge of sustainability in the global economy, community and environment, the character of environmental sustainability in the information era, and the link between ICTs, the Internet and sustainable development. Applying new conceptual and methodological approaches, this study advances to the next level research on Internet sustainability in rising markets, the relationship between the sustainable development society and the information technology sphere, and ICT as an assistant to sustainable development. This research makes conceptual and methodological contributions to the relationship between the Internet society and the sustainable development area, the role of ICT in environmental sustainability, and the sustainability of traditional business patterns of the industrial epoch. pp. 24–29
