ABSTRACT. I follow recent research (e.g. Bartels and Johnson, 2015; Del Giudice et al., 2017; Iaione, 2016; Kimball, 2015; Polemarchakis, 2015) showing that cognitive economics analyzes the mechanism of abstraction of information from the setting via perception, and the advancement of knowledge via communication. Using data from Business Insider, CaixaBank Research, Current Population Survey, Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, Kansas City Fed, and U.S. Census Bureau, I performed analyses and made estimates regarding annual job reallocation rates in selected U.S. industry sectors, job trends (routine vs. nonroutine, cognitive vs. manual), the trend in the tasks demanded for U.S. jobs, the U.S. mean household income by highest level of education, and worker tasks in the U.S. economy (all education groups).
