ABSTRACT. The purpose of this article is to gain a deeper understanding of the rise of the importance of information in the economy, the displacement of realism by the digital, the communicative dynamic of media interactions, the rise of transnational informational capitalism, and the mediated organization of global society. We are specifically interested in how previous research investigated the restructuring of the media industry, the political economy of communication, the moral significance of the media, the reality of contemporary global media space, and the role of the Internet and the media in people’s everyday lives. pp. 143–150
