ABSTRACT. The aim of the present study is to examine and evaluate the self-actualising varieties of counseling and psychotherapy, the conceptual architecture of Lacanian psychoanalysis, the dynamics of human behavior, the relationship that grows through the process of counselling and psychotherapy, and systemic styles of psychotherapy. The theory that we shall seek to elaborate here puts considerable emphasis on the movement from counseling to psychotherapy, the goals of counseling and psychotherapy, the central role of emotion in psychological health, the long-term value of counselors’ and psychologists’ interventions, and the psychological foundations of Adlerian practice. pp. 194–199
