ABSTRACT. The main objective of this paper is to explore and describe knowledge communities and collaborative work in digital democracy, the role of media in a democratic society, the blurring of the news–entertainment boundaries, the routinization of news practice, and the impact of internal processes and practice on media discourse. In sum, the results of the current study provide useful insights on factors shaping the growing commercialization of the media, the language of the news media, the impact of the news process on media discourse, the processes behind news reporting, and journalism’s role in relation to language style. pp. 172–178 JEL Classification: D83, L82, O14 Keywords: knowledge communities, collaborative work, new media |
