Written by LUMINITA IONESCU
ABSTRACT. The paper generates insights about Weber’s organizational archetypes, the legal-bureaucratic aspects of administration and governing, the possible positive influences of bureaucratic organization, and the value of the ideal-type of bureaucracy. Our paper contributes to the literature by providing evidence on the rhetoric of bureaucratic reforms, the pervasiveness of negative images of bureaucrats, the logic of the bureaucratic role, and the probity and predictability of bureaucracy. pp. 266–271

Keywords: bureaucracy, organization, governance, politics, democratic value
